Travel to Donner Lake
NOTE 1:
AIRPORTS

Reno, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Oakland are all possible airports to fly into.

Reno Airport is the closest option and about a 45-minute drive to Donner Lake. An Uber from the airport will cost about $75-$100.

It is a 2-hour drive from Sacramento and a 3- to 4-hour drive from the Bay Area, depending on traffic conditions.

TRANSPORTATION TO THE WEDDING

A shuttle to and from the venue will be provided. Pickup will be offered at multiple locations around Donner Lake (more details to follow).

For those driving, it is about a 15 minute ride up the mountain and there will be plenty of parking onsite. Please note that the drive up to the wedding location is up a windy, mountain road.

GETTING AROUND DONNER LAKE

There are infrequent Ubers/Lyfts in the area Donner area, so we recommend renting a car, if possible.

There are many activities around Donner Lake that would require a car (like heading to Tahoe), but if you decide to say around Donner, you can stay busy hiking, biking, and swimming.
Lodging Options
The Donner Lake Village sits right on Donner Lake and is one of the closest options. Each unit is an individual Vrbo rental.
Located on the East End of Donner Lake next to the park. This is also a good hotel option right on the lake.
The Best Western is another close option right near the lake and the most affordable.
House Rentals
Anywhere in the Donner Lake, Tahoe-Donner, or Truckee area would be within 15 minutes of the West End of Donner Lake. In addition to Airbnb/Vrbo, check out HomeToGo.
The Donner Lake Memorial State Park has camp sites that open up 6 months in advance - they will book up quickly! The Sugar Bowl Ski Resort has parking for RVs.
